We just got back from a fun, relaxing vacation in Gatlinburg. Grammie & Papa were so generous to invite us on a long four day weekend in the Great Smokey Mountains. We stayed in a beautiful cabin onto of a mountain with the most serene view. It was awesome!
On our first day there we went into downtown Gatlinburg to eat dinner and walk around to see the sites. They have candy making down to an art here with the taffy machines running. Wyatt emjoyed watching candy being made. What kiddo wouldn't. Of course we had to get some. Wyatt choose a blue rock candy sucker and ate the WHOLE thing!

On Friday it was quite rainy, but that didn't spoil our fun. We took Wyatt to the Sugarland Nature Center and Museum which has all sorts of things on display which can be found in the Great Smokey Mountains. Wyatt enjoyed running around and seeing all the different animals, bugs, plants, and birds.

Since it was still raining after the museum, we took Wyatt to the Ripley's Aquarium to see some fishy! We saw so much there including a bunch of sharks!
Unfortunately this pic is blurry, but what a shot thanks to Daddy's long arms & height!

Giving the crabs high five.

The view from our cabin porch was spectacular. We spent Friday evening just hanging out in the rocking chairs, soaking up the view, and getting a kick out of Wyatt's antics. Grammie got Wyatt a hopper which he had a BLAST with. Oh the laughter that filled the mountain tops!

Wyatt and Papa sat on the steps of the porch just taking in the view with the help of some binoculars. Too cute!

Saturday was our chance to drive up into the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. The roads are quite windy as you travel up into the mountain tops. We did everything we could to engage Wyatt in looking out the window at all the glorious views, but I think he was being lulled to sleep instead. Unfortunately, never found a good place to picnic before cranky pants set in. Oh well! We pulled over at one of the lookouts to eat, enjoy the view, and attempt to get some pics.
Since Wyatt wouldn't cooperate, we got a great pic of Grammie & Papa.

On our way back down the mountain, we found one of the many creeks to climb around in. Wyatt wasn't too interested at first, but did manage to warm up as Mommy & Daddy got in.

The cabin had a huge hot tub on the porch. We turned down the heat and climbed in for a little water fun. Grammie got Wyatt a boat that moves around by a blown up balloon. Wyatt had fun trying to blow it up.

Our weekend was spectacular thanks to Grammie & Papa! A new adventure with Wyatt is always so much fun. I grew up going to the mountains a bunch when I was little, and it was great to have the opportunity take Wyatt on such an adventure! Thank you, thank you, thank you Grammie & Papa for a great weekend away in Gatlinburg!
