Back to reality and counting down to summer

Getting back into the swing of things after Spring Break will just wear ya out!
This little love has learned all the ways to get past our stair barrier.  It may be time for a new solution.
On Monday, the kids got one more day of Spring Break while Matt had to go back to work.  They all slept in including the littlest one.
We had a relaxing day but did get some things done including hair cuts for the boys and even Lillian got a trim.
Because Lillian's curls are so curly, most places to get kids hair cut don't really know how to handle them, so Mommy has perfected a quick trim.
Madeline is starting to get some curls too!
End of the day snuggles are the best!
On the days I'm off work, Madeline stays home with me.  If we don't have too much going on, she gets an awesome nap.  She is such a joy when she wakes up!
After a long Friday I got home to this little one being tired, whiney and hungry.
But don't her little pigtails look SO cute!! Her teacher does this for her and I just adore it!
I have finally found a quick and easy hair product for our Lillian's curls.  Matt started putting it in her hair on Thursday and I noticed that afternoon her curls weren't their typical frizzy mess.  They actually held up.  Lillian is not a morning person, so getting a product we can quickly put in her hair to help her curls and be out the door was key.  She is growing to love her curly hair and I think having the right product is helping!  yay!
I couldn't resist getting Madeline back in pigtails Saturday morning.
We finally gave up on the stair barrier and Matt and I came together to develop a new solution.  For less than $30, Matt was able to build a new barrier.  It just needs a coat of paint today and we'll be set. . . hopefully.  I just pray she doesn't learn to scale it in a flash.
Madeline's expression as Matt brought it in last night to fit it to the space was priceless.
The paint should be dry by tomorrow and the barrier ready for use!  The boys can easily step over it, and it has felt pads along the bottom to help it slide away from the stairs when we need it to.
Sunday morning snuggles watching Moana.
As Matt worked painting today, Lillian worked on luring Madeline up the stairs with a path of Cheese Its.  Stinker!  Madeline needs no encouragement in this area!
We've done well adjusting back into the school routine this week, but we sure are counting down the weeks until summer!
