Kansas Holiday Trip

This past week we traveled to Kansas to visit with family there. Sydney & Grumps, Jordan, Lindsey & Jacob, and Nathan were all there. We spent the first night having fun opening presents with the little ones. Too much fun! The boys were given Texas outfits complete with Texas shirts, cowboy boots and matching belt to go with their Wranglers. They were absolutely ADORABLE!!!

Grumps and his little Texas boys!

Wyatt received an awesome gunslinger/shooting game. That was definitely a hit with the boys. Wyatt loves shooting and to get a reaction makes him just squeal with laughter. All the boys got in on the action. The rest of the time we were there Jacob would say “this” wanting the gun to shoot.

On Monday we went meet Lindsey for lunch at the mall. Wyatt got a little squirmy, so Syd took him for a walk. They found a great carousel in the mall to ride. Jacob & Wyatt had fun riding the carousel with their Daddy’s. What fun. The Matt & Jordan are two great daddies with their little mini-me boys in tow.

Monday evening was bath night for the boys. They had the best time in the tub. Syd supervised as the boys played. Wyatt wanted some of the foam soap so Syd was hooking him up. I must say “Way to go Syd” as she sprayed the can, soap flew into Jacob’s face. He could have cared less too! It was HILARIOUS! After that happened Wyatt kept asking for soap in Jacob’s face. Guess it made an impression. Jacob showed us his funny trick of making pooty noises by squishing the rubber ducks against his belly. It was quite funny to see the seriousness in his face as he would squishing those duckies against his tummy. Too funny!

On Tuesday, to get out of the house we went on an adventure to the park up the street from where Lindsey & Jordan live. The Wyatt & Jacob had a blast swinging, sliding, looking at the ducks & running around.

That evening we went to an awesome restaurant called Fritz’s. You order your food through a telephone in the wall at your booth. When the food is ready a whistle blows, a train comes down the track and drops it off at your table. This was quite a fun adventure for everyone. I don’t think Wyatt ate one bite of food as he was TOO busy watching the trains.

After dinner we took the little ones to see the gingerbread houses. They were awesome!

On our last night there, the big boys, Jordan & Nathan challenged each other in eating a 3 pound hamburger. So off we went to observe this craziness. Wyatt had fun at the restaurant making a super long straw to drink from. We all were quite grossed out as Jordan & Nathan develed into their own 3 pound, two pattie, monstrosity of a burger. Jordan finished a little over three quarters of it, and Nathan finished about half I think. Whew, they are crazy!

Super Straw!

The 3 pound hamburgers!

Overall, we had a fun trip visiting with family we don’t get to see very often. It is so much fun watching Wyatt and his cousin Jacob playing together. Both look like and act like their daddies. What a way to end out one year and bring in the new one. We hope everyone has a wonderful 2009. We are looking forward to what adventures will come our way this year! Happy New Year everyone!
