Today we had our 20 week ultrasound of the baby. This is the big ultrasound where they look at all of the anatomy and make sure everything is developing appropriately. Each time we do this it makes me nervous as I know WAY too much with what I do and see for a living.
Baby looks great!! Everything is right where it should be and developing as it should. The baby was a bit stubborn with head down in my pelvis and feet in my ribs and it refused to turn. Needless to say we didn't get a great picture of the heart. No worries, we will go back in four weeks to try for that perfect pic as well as try for a 3D image. Fingers crossed for baby cooperation.
Cute face shot with the arm up by the face.
The other great bonus to the 20 week ultrasound is getting to see the gender of the baby. The boys have both been decisive about what they want, so we wanted to find out for their sake. We decided not to have the doctor tell us in the office. Instead, we opted to have the ultrasound pic placed in a sealed envelope. I took the envelope to 3 different stores in an attempt to buy silly string in the coordinating color. Finally, at Target, the customer service rep understood my request and had the color we needed in stock. She went back and put 4 containers in a bag without the tops and resealed the envelope. Once we were all home it was time. SO. . . Boy or girl? What could it be? We sprayed our silly string to see. . .
It's a GIRL!!!
Healthy and growing perfectly! Yay!
We are SO blessed and a bit in shock that we are actually having a girl!! She is going to be well protected with a daddy and two older brothers. The boys are SO excited to be having a sister. Hope that feeling last once she arrives. :)
