A Brief Glimpse at Spring

This past week the weather has been super crazy. Tuesday was absolutely beautiful with a high in the mid 70's and a gentle breeze. So. . . of course we got outside to play in the afternoon. Wyatt loves to dig around in his sand table with all this diggers and pour sand. (We only had a few incidents of tossing sand. It is so fun to see how it flies. ;) Not really.) Anyway here are a few pics of Wyatt enjoying his sand table.

After Wyatt tired of the sandbox, he was off to riding his tricycle. He hasn't quite grasped the concept of peddles but still has fun nonetheless. His favorite part about riding the tricycle up and down the driveway is pushing the limits on how far we will let him get before making him turn around. Such the boundary pushing two year old. "This far? This far? What about now?"

In other news, Wyatt battled with the cot at preschool on Friday and got his first shiner. Oh so sad, but apparently a milestone for little boys. I didn't get a picture of it, but below is a picture of him wearing my shades. Guess we don't want anyone to see that a cot might have won that battle?
Although Tuesday was a pretty day, the rest of the week was cold, wet and down right dreary outside. On Saturday Wyatt went to play with Grammie & Papa. They are quite amazed at all his new tricks, ever expanding vocabulary, and his overall sweetness. He is rather adorable if I do say so myself. He played hard with them wearing himself out so much that he took at 4 hour nap Saturday afternoon. Yipee for me, I was able to efficiently get the laundry done, pick up the toys and actually settle down enough to read a book. This is a phenomenon that has not happened in FOREVER. The only reading I get done are the brief and not so mind expanding articles in US Weekly. So, I started reading this book, "She's Gonna Blow," I read about it one of the blogs I follow and I had one of those "YES" moments that I will share with you. A little background, one of my favorite quotes that you will see in the banner of this blog is "While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about." In this book, the author talks about how our children " were put together with a particular purpose in mind. They were given to us by a Creator who wants to teach us more about Himself-- and His chief teaching tool for the next several years is going to be the child you call your son or your daughter." Oh so very true. Life is all about seeking, finding, and fulfilling the purpose our Creator has for us (and oh, oh, oh, I fall SOO short), and when I look at this precious boy pictured above, the very one who is a part of me and Matt, who can push my buttons, teach me that I am SOOO type A, perfectionist, planner, etc, teach me about just sitting back and experiencing love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self control. . . I am in awe. This precious baby changed my world. One precious baby changed EVERYONE's world.

Okay, so there is my honest "ah ha" moment of the week. I do recommend this book. I'm not that far into it, but if you have a toddler or small children and you have found yourself snapping at them and wondered who the heck just said that, this book is good. It is a book aimed at helping mom's dealing with anger. I wouldn't say by any means that I am an angry mom, but it is nice to expand my knowledge on helping moms who do have issues with anger deal with that and raising their children. It has opened my eyes so far and taught me a few things about myself. Interesting.
