Just a Winter Week

This week has been just a week of winter with a preschooler. With the cold weather comes indoor play and, unfortunately, illness too. Tuesday afternoon Wyatt was having fun goofing around indoors doing everything from balancing a pillow on his head to trying to share juice with baby Walker through my belly button. He can be so silly!

Sadly the fun came to an end that evening when we noticed a huge meltdown over nothing right before bedtime and that he was breathing rather fast. After about 10 minutes of crying in his room we opted to have him sleep with us. I took his temp just to make sure it was nothing crazy, and it was only 99. Three hours later Matt rolled over to feel him and Wyatt was one hot tamale. His fever was 102, he was whimpering, and when we got him up to give him some medicine he started throwing up. Oh fun. After a long night on the sofa with Daddy so Mommy could get some rest before taking the day shift with the sick little man, Wyatt wasn't any better. Wednesday I took Wyatt to the doctor thinking he either had strep throat or the flu. Turns out is was strep throat. He was one sick little man. He slept most of the day on Wednesday on the sofa with me.

Thursday was another day at home for Wyatt. For me, I started having a sore throat and low grade fever. Turns out at my doctor's visit on Friday, I was diagnosed with a UTI. YUCK! It stinks to be preggo and sick. As far as baby Walker, he continues to check out great. We did a swab test to see if I was possible going into labor since I have had a ton of contractions this week and pressure. It was negative, so we will go back in 2 weeks. I can't believe we are down to every two week visits already.

Since I have felt yucky and Wyatt has improved greatly, Daddy was on duty for entertainment since it has been gloomy outside. The boys had a blast playing games, especially the sword game on the Wii. Wyatt loves knocking his Daddy off. He even has a silly victory dance that just cracks me up.

So that is our week in a nutshell. Not too much fun. Hopefully next week will be better.
