Special Delivery!!!

Our family excitedly welcomed into the world one of the most precious of blessings.

Walker Steven Hill was born March 17th at 3:50 in the morning.
He weighed in at 6 pounds 11 oz and was 20 inches long.

Our perfect little peanut is just that, perfect! Blessed beyond measure, we are soaking up every moment of it. Here are some highlights from the past few days since becoming a party of four.

After a long day of back labor, an awesome epidural, a couple of tug-o-war pushes and Walker was born. I was quite amazed at the miracle in my arms as he was quite stunned to enter the world.
We spent out St. Patty's day taking in the wonder of our new little man. Walker is quite bright eyed and loves to snuggle. I definitely love the snuggling too!
Daddy is thrilled with our new little boy. He just can't get over how small this little peanut of ours really is. I told him I am not about breaking some world record on having a huge baby. I prefer this little peanut size. Walker is perfect.
Wyatt came up to the hospital with Papa and Grammie to meet his new little brother. He was quite excited and inquisitive. He asked if that was my baby, to which I said it was OUR baby. Yet, somehow the baby in his belly hasn't come out yet. Hmmmm. Very interesting. Wyatt was very tender and gentle with Walker, but did lose interest in him soon. Grammie had brought Wyatt as special card with a Big Brother sticker as well as a glider toy to play with. Like most 3 year olds he was much more interested in playing.
Wyatt's Big Brother sticker.
All my boys.
Papa was quite smitten with Walker. He sat and rocked Walker with the BIGGEST grin just soaking up all his cuteness.
Grammie is just as smitten with Walker. She savored holding him and checking out all his little features. He is quite a cutie if I do say so myself.
Just look at all this cuteness! Could you just kiss him all over?!!! I have and love doing so!!!

Here is Walker all tuckered out the next day. He had just been circumcised and we both were just plain tired. His tired face is MUCH, MUCH cuter than mine with all it's dark undereye circles. Ha Ha!
Wyatt was so excited to come see me and Walker the next day too. He was very excited to hold Walker and give him sweet kisses.
Walker got Wyatt some fun gifts for being his new big brother. Wyatt was quite excited since one of these was a movie he could watch in my room as I was nursing Walker and couldn't play right away. He wasn't too interested in my nursing Walker he just wanted to see exactly where the milk came from. We are attempting to avoid that anatomy lesson for now by telling him Mommy's special milk for the baby comes from her chest. He seems satisfied with that answer and has learned that he can't see how it all works exactly.
Helping keep Walker happy while Daddy changed his diaper. So sweet to hear him say, "It's okay Walker. It's okay."
Friday we found out Walker's bilirubin level was borderline, but we would get to go home. Yeah!! I was quite ready to be back home and so happy I didn't have to explain to Wyatt that Mommy and Walker couldn't be at our house for another night. Wyatt told me the day before, "Mommy, these are the rules. Mommy, Daddy, Wyatt and Walker come to my house today." I hated telling him we couldn't yet. To avoid those tears I had sent him home to be my BIG helper and take care of Daddy. To which Wyatt said, "yes, Daddy needs help." Ha Ha Ha!!

Walker was so thrilled to hear we were going home. Can't you tell? As soon as the discharge orders were ready, Grammie and I packed up, I dressed Walker in this cute little outfit, and we were off to start our adventure at home as a family of four! Yeah. Walker is such a tiny peanut that the carseat just swallows him up. I remember Wyatt being tiny, but not THIS tiny in the huge seat.
Grammie drove the two of us home, so Uncle Greg came to get her when she was ready to go home to her house. Uncle Greg has never held a newborn, much less a tiny newborn that Walker is. It was funny to see that awkward hold and look of OMG, I'm holding a baby!
We are so enjoying being home as our family of four adjust to our new adventure. I am amazed that so far Wyatt has been great with Walker and hasn't shown any jealousy or meltdowns. Sure, it may come, but so far, so good.
Yesterday, we had to take Walker in to the doctor to recheck his bili level and weight. Since I am not suppose to be driving or lifting the carseat, the entire family had to go. I was amazed that everyone was up, dressed, fed and made it to the doctor's office on time for our 9:10 appointment. Wow! Probably just a fluke, but I felt accomplished. On the way home Wyatt was teaching Walker all about Disney cars and sharing his mini cars with him. I think Walker was impressed. Hard to tell since he was sleeping ;) I am looking forward to all the moments to come with these two boys growing up together.
Blessed beyond measure, Matt and I are so happy with our new addition and Wyatt is one AWESOME big brother!! So thankful for a healthy family of four!
